Wckr SpgtThe Charles Mansion1986 :: Anthropology Records/Shrimper/Sonic Enemy/Traumatone :: USA
Perhaps the most famous of all Wckr Spgt rock operas, The Charles Mansion has established itself as one of the most complicated stories ever put forth by a musical group. Full of intrigue and excitement, it continues to annoy friends and families alike.
It's the story of a young lady named Florence who is being chased by an ox toward a big, scary house. Part One, "The Charles Mansion", focuses on Florence leaving her home in Arcadia with the ox in pursuit, getting to the house, and meeting the "family" that lives there. Part Two, "The Charles Bronson", deals with the house itself, the surrounding yard, and the secrets therein. Part Three, "The Charles Maison", shifts back to Florence's struggles while Part Four, "The Charles Mountain", deals with the ox, the Shroud of Turin, and a private ox-quest on a mountainside.
Rewritten many times, performed once, and hated for years, this incredibly complex project has been released by four different companies and dropped from four different catalogues.
